Gardens are still looking beautiful, so what if we are in to late summer!!! There are still jobs to do (heres just a few). Dead heading to keep those flowers blooming. Sweet peas; untie the stems of cordon-trained sweet-peas which have reached the tops of their supports. Lower the stems to the ground and re-tie the tips to provide new canes for them to climb. This will encourage them to grow and flower for longer. Roses: Prune rambler roses when their flowering is over.
Make sure your tools such as pruners are in good condition, it makes life so much easier. Happy Gardening.
